The Internet Archive, a non-profit library 501(c)(3) located in the Presidio of San Francisco, is committed to preserving the world's digital cultural artifacts. The Internet Archive is looking to hire the key person to build the website and its collections. This will involve hiring and motivating a team of technical and non-technical people, working with organizations outside of the Archive, and pioneering ways to leverage volunteer communities to help in this project.
The Program Manager for Books who will be primarily responsible coordinating the collecting and presenting of scanned books through our website. This has some user interface components to it, but mostly it is coordinating and organizing the books that are being made available to the Archive. The program manager works with contributors and internal technical staff to bring digitized books into the Internet Archive. This position will also help communicate the needs of our users to make sure that our books are readable and accessible to a wide audience.
