On a Dvorak keyboard, I find myself often slipping when trying to hit C-c C-z in Gnus, to kill all the text from point to the start of my .signature. I miss the 'z' and hit the 's'. The result? C-c C-s sends the message. So far, this has not caused any real disasters, even though I have done it no fewer than 10 times (at work!). Before anything really bad happens, I installed this code:
(defun johns/dont-send-yet-stupid () "C-c C-s is too easy to hit by accident." (interactive) (message "Stupid: Type M-x message-send-and-exit if you really mean it.")) (define-key message-mode-map "\C-c\C-s" 'johns/dont-send-yet-stupid)
Thanks to drewr on #emacs for giving me the tip.
