Just finished digging out from our little blizzard, which I'm not sure is over yet.
The snow in our driveway was halfway up my thighs, so, over 3 feet. I don't remember the last time I had to shovel that much snow, and I grew up in Michigan---though, for most of the last 10 years, I have not actually had a driveway.
It wasn't so much the quantity of snow as its topography. In this house, the drifting patterns really punish our half of the driveway. I took some pictures, but they came out as thoroughly unimpressive so I won't put them here.
Menino also said he is requiring only essential city personnel to report for work Monday and is asking other city residents to stay home and off the roads in order to give public works crews a chance to clear the roadways.
Will I have to go to work tomorrow?
Too bad the Pats aren't playing at home today; they'd be on their way to the Superbowl for sure.
