So, in editing a manuscript in OpenOffice Writer, I briefly thought it would be a good idea to use Insert then Note to leave some notes for the author. Then I changed my mind and tried to delete those Notes. Whoops. You'd think backspacing over or deleting the little yellow icon representing a Note in the text would remove it, but, you'd be wrong.
I agree with the sentiments of this blogger. The problem is, this solution doesn't work for me. A couple of the notes just refuse to go away, even following these steps. They are still taunting me, and I have decided to give up. This is why I use Emacs, and not word processors, whenever possible.

Yes, this sucks so much, I know. Even so much, that the authors of OpenOffice forgot to include a tutorial (in Help) on how to delete a note in OpenOffice!
Tutorial on deleting a note in OpenOffice:
- Press F5 (navigator)
- Click on "Notes" to open the Notes part
- List of notes in the document should be displayed.
- Click on the note you want to delete.
- Press Delete key to delete a note in OpenOffice
- Continue with the rest of the notes, if required.
