Suddenly [29 Mar 2005|10:59pm]

The sandman drifts belly-up
in broken prose punctuated
with stage diorama drums.

The strung-out crowd sings
with no rhythm. Here we go,
off to neighbor neighbor
land. Won't you be my fence

against the wall? Please, put
your wizened hands together
for the branded voiceover.
He'll like your tone,
if it's deep.

Our chances to do exactly this
might actually depend on
the density, the time we have
for nothing to be done at all---

Because the way to the laundry
is the way to the river
and the way to the dirt
is the way to blue,
resting assured.

Sitting by the entrance
was a way to be shallow.
Knowing, everything wrapped up
would go to someone else.
It was a powerful defense.

Speaking easy [29 Mar 2005|11:00pm]
Soon, we can say goodbye to the port number in the URL.

Yesterday, I ordered DSL service from Speakeasy for the apartment that I'll be moving into sometime in April.

One of the many nice things about Speakeasy is that they don't block port 80. The reason my URL has the ridiculous 8000 in it is because Verizon blocks port 80.

Soon that will be gone. Also, soon it will say www.wjsullivan.net up there. Because another nice thing that Speakeasy does is provide static IPs, so I can have my domain point directly to my machine.

Next on the list is getting some more memory for my web server, and improving the proxy/cacheing setup. I'm sorry that it's so slow to load at the moment.
