While waiting for the bus today (something I seem to be doing an awful lot of lately), a garbage truck went by and I looked up to see what was stinking.
On the side of the truck was a sign, "Our landfills provide over 17,000 acres of wildlife habitat."
I don't doubt that where there is garbage, there are animals. My old dog Sherman was in our garbage all the time, and that was just in the kitchen.
But wasn't there also habitat on each of these 17,000 acres before the landfills arrived? Like maybe some trees?
