Last night I had a new kind of social experience possible only in the Age of the Internets.
I was introduced to a person in an unfortunate way — when introducing me to someone I really think it's best to just say, "John, this is so and so", even if you're pretty sure we've already met, and not, "John, do you know so and so?" — because then I can't answer without worrying whether I've met the person before. And my memory, not so good.
That was the problem here. She sure did look familiar, and her name was familiar, but in the few seconds of awkwardness, I came up with nothing, so I just said No and my name.
A little while later, it hit me. I'd seen her Friendster profile before.
I'm calling this phenomenon, Friendster Vu.
Oh, Internets, what have you done to my brain.
