I thought for sure this was a misprint in the Boston Globe, but it's not. The "National Association of Theater Owners" really does go by NATO.
"We'd love to see a yearlong window," says G. Kendrick Macdowell, general counsel for the National Organization of Theater Owners. "We're always happy with the window being as long as possible. It preserves the feel of 'going to the movies' that's an integral part of American culture." And that presumably keeps NATO members solvent.
I knew the movies and the military were in bed together, but I didn't realize how deeply.
